The Silvonian language became the standard spoken and written tongue of Yanakhon except for Ikharonia during the Second Empire era, or for this reason also referred to as the Enlightenment Era.

Merial Salimerat unified the written word in a more simple form and created a manuscript called "The Teaching" [Kha Kata], whose copies were distributed all across the continent in great numbers, thus becoming the first book to be copied and distributed in numbers. The accessibility caused the unification of written word and through trade, migrations, and pilgrimage, became the standard over the next few generations, much replacing the local and older, more complex writing systems.

Silvon Script is based on Harachim Script, a complex, intricate, logographic meditation script meant for seeking depths of the mind rather than for written word. This script was used as the basis of the Tenets of the Secret and was thus the natural choice for Salimerat.
