THE THUNDER DANCE
ANYONE CAN LEARN THE SECRET.
THAT IS WHY IT MUST REMAIN ONE.
Chased down by the Crimson Empire’s knight-detectives, Arkhaniel had no choice but to ditch the scroll. The heir to Yanakhon had failed.
While hunting in the Silwoods, sixteen-year-old Sagiron stumbles upon the scroll. Certain he has finally found something valuable, he takes it home… only for everyone to dismiss it as an old prayer.
But an old trainer knows the way of the symbols, revealing the Secret: an art latent in every human mind. Overnight, Sagiron, who barely knows how to hold a sword, can match seasoned champions, whisper to beasts, and dance with thunder.
Carrying the only known copy, they set out to seek a powerful order sworn to restore Yanakhon. But the Crimson Empire is already on the move, with the province’s greedy statelord scheming to claim the Secret for himself.
As things spiral out of control, Sagiron finds himself with a book-smart archivist, a jumpy rogue, and a furious warrioress. Only ever yearning for a small adventure, he is now trapped in a mission that begins to feel like saving the whole world…
For the only way to unlearn the Secret is through death.

Short synopsis
The last heirs of the lone survivor have taken matters into their own hands and recover their heirloom, the Prime Code: a cipher that lets anyone learn the Secret, the world’s only form of magic. Hunted by colonial knight-detectives, the heirs hide their discovery before they are run down.
Sagiron stumbles upon the scroll, only to lose his father to bandits soon after. Bent on vengeance, he trains under a local Skill Games master, but once the scroll’s significance becomes clear, the quest for justice turns into something far larger.
He and his mentor travel to the Brethren to reveal the find, who rally their order for war to reclaim their homeland. Yet the colonial empire moves first. Sagiron survives the siege that follows, learning that another copy of the Code exists.
But the enemy is closing in and driven into an ambush, he watches the cipher fall into enemy hands. With the help of an unlikely ally, he must reclaim it before the empire deciphers its power, gathering his own forces for a desperate strike on their stronghold.
