The Yonian Realms

Yanakhon was a continent separate from the Northern and the Southern lands. Due to it being an island-like land, alien incursions were limited.

Ethnically, the Yonians had a diverse base, but over the centuries, had assimilated similar values and culture, and the continent had formed its own, distinctive monoculture, with migrations consisting mostly of Yonians.

Despite this, the continent had seventy-two defined cultural and political realms, which could be divided into following major groups:

  • Selerians

  • Yalians

  • Harachimians

  • Ikharonians

  • Arkhanic-Continentals

Yanakhon (Yanat - our; khon - land)
The Yonian States

Teleng, (Sil. Teleng Iosis - West City), or Andaliosis (Sil. Andal - white; Iosis - city), the second-largest city in Yanakhon, the cultural and political capital after Gralon Era.

Yonton City, or Yontor, Yonbor (Rnk.), Joontor (Ymb.), the largest city in Yanakhon, the most important city by the Blue Sea.

Selerian City, (Sil. Seler - silver), or Silver City or Seleriosis, the capital of the Selerian world formed around the Selerian Pass between Silverland and Mainland.

Ikhanic City, or Ikhan, a city located at the strait between Ikakhon island and the continental Ionia, the largest Ikharonian city.

Silantis, (Sil. Silan - sea; itis - by) the ancient city destroyed by the eruption of Seleturm supervolcano in 720BSE.

Thang Ikharon, Fort Ikharon, a massive stone gate at the mouth of the Unthom Pass leading to the Lonely Valley.

Untomithang, the Lonely Fortress, a towering palace located in the Lonely Valley.

Shalon, the Temple City in Salon Valley surrounding the Temple of Salon.

Harachim, or the Hidden Valley, at the heart of the Gray Mountain range, once isolated, then inhabited by the Belsetarian refugees fleeing the Selerian persecutions

Dalator, the capital of the Dalaan Valley, sometimes referred as the Paradise City or Treasure City, (Sil. Dalat - treasure; tor - castle, fort, stronghold, foundation stone).

Telkheron, or Eaglestone, a town built in an exhausted volcano crater, was the last Ikharonian stronghold east of Lonely Valley before Selenthion Era.

Arkhanic City, by the Strait of Arkhania, at the very northern tip of Ionian continent. Known for the Arkhanic Bridge and the Temple of Arkhaniel.

Akharrat, a small salt mine village located in northern Silwoods. Would transliterate literally as Hilltop.

Tritoria, an old Silvonian castle town. (Sil. Trikh - salt; toria - castle, stronghold)

Highland Castle University, or Turmtor, built as a frontline defense by Metorians against Whitlings, primarily used as a library and an university since Salimerat Era, including during the Perillean rule.

Yanakhon also referred to the Ionic continent, a 12 million square kilometer landmass connected to other continents only via an impassable mountain range from the south (Silver mountains), and the Arkhanic Strait in the north.

Being a large continent surrounded by major seas and oceans, it had, over the course of history, established its own world of cultures and clashes. Divided by several major mountain ranges, most notably the Gray Mountains, a major split between cultures was established after the Seleturm supervolcanic eruption, forming distinct cultural spheres: The Silvery Realms to the east (Selerian Culture), and the Green Realms to the west (Ikharonian Culture). Northern cultural influence affected the Arkhanic land.

For most of its history, these two cultures clashed on a narrow strip of land, the Westbottom.

Two major empires rose from the continent: The First and the Second Yanakhon, established by the grand-kings (merials) Gralon and Salimerat, unifying most of the realms.

However, it was only the Third Yanakhon established in the Thunder Dance series that ultimately formed a continent-spanning state. During this era (The Selenthion Era, best transliterated as Pax Yanakhon), it established its place as the leading empire on all of Antoria, bringing about unprecedented peace and prosperity and technological advances.

The Khonnors of Yanakhon
